THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “London psych-pop / power-pop band Emperor Penguin are JT (vocals, guitar, bass), Neil Christie (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Nigel Winfield (vocals, guitar)and Richard Wilson (drums, piano). They make pop music with noisy guitars. Originally active in the ’90s, with original bassist Adrian Long, the band reformed in 2016 and have released four albums: Crumhorn (recorded by the original lineup in 2000, released 2016), Rum Pop Engineer (2017), Walnut Fascia (2018) and Soak Up the Gravy (2019).
Corporation Pop! compiles all three EPs and one single we released in 2020, together with a few totally new songs. Recorded as usual in Highbury Fields Forever Studios, London and at home during the great lockdown of 2020, mixed and mastered by Cameron Lister in L.A. Featuring the ‘smash hit’ single collaboration with Orbis Max (Talk To Me) and including contributions from Nick Frater, Jamie Whelligan and the queen of power pop, Lisa Mychols, who sing lead vocals on two songs, it’s a 16-track beast (with one extra bonus track on digital) of meaty pop goodness.”
