This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
You gotta give it up for a guy who supposedly passed on a job writing for Seinfeld to make oddball electro-rock — and be master of of his domain.
That goes double when the oddball electro-rock in question blends beats, brains and brash humour as seamlessly and enjoyably as songs like Daft Punk Is Playing At My House, Losing My Edge and the rest of this audacious two-disc debut from James Murphy and his LCD Soundsystem bandmates. Get your geek on. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
