Albums Of The Week: Spiders | Sharp Objects

THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Swedish rock band Spiders are ready to carve a new chapter in rock history. Their new album Sharp Objects brings together shattered dreams, lofty visions, and the raw essence of rock ’n’ roll, creating an album that’s both nostalgic and fiercely modern.

As with their previous releases, Spiders’ sound is deeply rooted in classic rock. However, Sharp Objects offers something fresh, weaving in influences from the early ’80s new wave and garage-rock scene. This album takes listeners on a sonic journey — from Gothenburg, to New York’s iconic Bleecker Street, to London’s vibrant Soho and back again. Along the way, you’ll encounter a musical landscape where the spirit of bands like Faces, Dead Boys, Fred Cole and Bikini Kill lives on, while a rebellious Debbie Harry gives a defiant nod to the present.

Founded in 2012, Spiders quickly made their mark with their debut album Flash Point and continued to build their reputation with followups Shake Electric (2014) and Killer Machine (2018). Over the years, they’ve toured extensively, bringing their electrifying performances to rock clubs and festival stages across Europe and the U.S.

With Sharp Objects, Spiders are set to push boundaries once again, offering a record that blends grit, attitude, and a deep respect for rock’s past and future.”
