Classic Album Review: 2Pac | Loyal To The Game

The rapper's ninth posthumous outing is the first one in a while that's worth hearing.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Loyal To The Game is the ninth piece of posthumous product from the prolific Pac.

But it’s the first in a long time that’s actually worth hearing — chiefly because most of these 17 cuts were produced by Eminem, who integrates 2Pac’s rhymes with his own moody, plodding grooves and syncopated hooks. Whether this constitutes loyalty to 2Pac’s game is debatable, but it does make for an intriguing cross-pollination.
