How will you spend the last few days of 2024? Looking back at the year gone by? Making plans for the one ahead? Or living here and now in the moment? Your choice probably says a lot about you — or not. Honestly, I have no clue. All I know is that I could only find one release next week worth checking out. And here it is now:
Madam Bombs
Girl With A Fuse EP
THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Madam Bombs are a garage-rock trio from the L.A. suburbs of Simi Valley and Agoura Hills, comprised of bassist Marlowe Shachory, guitarist Claire FitzGerald and drummer Samara Ellis. Inspired by ’90s indie bands, Madam Bombs blend elements of grunge, punk and shoegaze over fuzzy guitar parts, unexpected bass lines, driving drums and harmonies that alternate between dissonant and ethereal. Part of L.A.’s new indie and punk DIY scene, Madam Bombs have played 100-plus shows in the area and as far away as N.Y.C. Their shows are known for a fierce energy that starts the mosh pit and keeps it going. In 2022, their song Get Me Out was one of KCRW’s 30 Favorite Songs of 2022. They were hand-picked by L.A. punk legend Shawn Stern of Youth Brigade to play at the Punk Rock Bowling festival in Las Vegas for both 2023 and 2024.”
