This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
Sharp hooks. Check. Big choruses. Check. Strong melodies, arena-sized riffs and stellar production. Check, check and check.
Whatever the formula for a modern-rock hit might be, Driver seem to have most of the necessary ingredients. And on this strongly commercial full-length, they combine them into a dozen radio-ready cuts that bridge the pop-rock sensibility and sandpaper vocals of a young Bryan Adams with the modern-rock wallop and dark angst of Nickelback.
