Classic Album Review: Bob Log III | Trike

There's nobody else quite like Bob Log III. And that's probably a good thing.

This came out in 1999 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

They broke the mold when they made blues-rock lunatic Bob Log III. And some folks might say that’s for the best.

After all, could the world really handle more than one freakball in a motorcycle helmet and a cop uniform, flogging his slide geetar with his “monkey paw” and stomping on a big bass drum while wildly yelping lewd psycho / hoodoo / garagabilly epics like Ass Computer, Clap Your T— (featuring women actually, um, clapping) and Daddy Log’s Drive In Candy Hoppin’ Car Babes? Probably not. Which is a durn shame, if you ask me. Think of it this way: For every Bob Log CD that gets sold, there might be one less Kenny Wayne Shepherd album in the world. And we can all get behind that, can’t we?
