Classic Album Review: The Golden Dogs | Everything in 3 Parts

Good things come in… well, you know… from this Toronto outfit's debut release.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

I will say this for Toronto singer-guitarist Dave Azzolini; he’s as good as his word.

Everything in 3 Parts, the debut disc from his buzz-worthy band The Golden Dogs, is indeed a three-headed beast. His recipe: One part ingenious Beatle-pop craftsmanship; one part rootsy singer-songwriter sensitivity; and one part amp-cranking indie-rock. And as he blends them into 13 hooky, smart and stylish tracks here, Azzolini proves that good things do indeed come in… well, you know.
