Karoline Kaminski stands up for the non-conformists with her powerful and personal new pop-rock single No Problem — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
Picking up where she left off with her equally outspoken May release I Want Less Of You, the German singer-songwriter, composer and pianist delivers an anthem of individualism and empowerment that takes a stand against societal norms, pressures and constraints.
“You said that I do things that aren’t normal
That I should be less chaotic and more formal
It’s my happiness you are dismissing
Did it occur to you that you’re just normalizing
What’s right for you
Put me in a corner I can tell I’m not the only one here
We’re an army of the non-conforming you look down to
Hello, there is no problem but you.”
“I live my life as I see fit, dress the way I want to, choose my career the way I want to — actually there’s no problem, is there?” asks Kaminski. “Unfortunately, family and society still have a say in this, because there are certain ‘ideals’ to achieve, a certain look — especially as a woman — a certain way of life à la children, house and dog. And what if not? That’s what the pop-rock song No Problem is about: Encouraging you to take a closer look at these values and, at the end of the day, to see what is important to you.”
Born and raised on the North Sea coast, Kaminski taught herself to play the piano as a child and wrote her first songs at the age of 12. She took her first steps towards a career in music at concerts in Kiel, Bremen and later in Marseille, France, where she lived for several years.
She brings with her a North German directness and expresses what she feels unfiltered: Anger, sadness and self-empowerment. Her songs are about processing and finally letting go of difficult situations and toxic relationships. Combining classic piano-pop and rock, Kaminski experiments with her instrument, electronic sounds and vibes.
