Sabrina Monique proclaims she’d Rather Be Lonely than be in a toxic relationship in her new self-empowered single — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
Continuing her journey of self-discovery and artistic independence, Sabrina delivers a powerful statement of self-worth and resilience in her newest track. Featured on her upcoming EP It’s Not Me, It’s You, which delves deep into themes of empowerment and liberation, Rather Be Lonely is a bold declaration of choosing oneself over bad relationships, showcasing Sabrina’s signature alt-pop sound, infectious beats, and distinctive, emotive vocal delivery. Sabrina’s unwavering honesty in her music continues to resonate with listeners, providing a voice for those navigating similar struggles. The song’s lyrics reflect the strength it takes to walk away from a harmful situation and the peace found in solitude.
“Rather Be Lonely is about reclaiming my power,” says Sabrina. “I’ve faced a lot of pressure to conform, but this song is a reminder that it’s OK to choose yourself, even if it means being alone. Writing this EP has been a cathartic process for me, and I hope it empowers others to make choices that honor their self-worth.” This single, like the rest of her upcoming EP, is produced in collaboration with industry veterans Dr. Ford and Randy Merrill.
Growing up in White Plains, N.Y., Sabrina found solace in music amidst a challenging family dynamic, often performing to bring light to her surroundings. Her passion for music led her to Manhattan at the age of seventeen, where she pursued her dreams despite facing the intense pressures of the music industry. Her experiences, including her appearance on American Idol and the subsequent challenges with body image and corrective surgeries, have shaped her into the artist she is today. These trials are reflected in her music.
