Classic Album Review: Helmet | Unsung: The Best of (1991-1997)

Page Hamilton's heavy hitters condense their four albums down to 21 tracks.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

THE SKINNY: Like a grunge band with more versatility, Page Hamilton’s Helmet upgraded their swaggering guitar metal with drop-D tunings and rhythmic complexity, drafting the precursor for today’s nü-metal. Unsung condenses their four CDs down to 21 tracks.

THE OLDIES: Bludgeoning blasts like In The Meantime, Give It, Milquetoast, Sinatra.

THE GOODIES: Just a couple of soundtrack cuts like Just Another Victim, a rap-metal collaboration with House of Pain.
