Frankie Bird reminisces about an old flame with her new single Miss You Love You — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
Arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day, the L.A. pop singer-songwriter’s latest track is about “a love that’s long passed and reminiscing on the time spent together,” she says. ‘It’s about wanting to call and tell the other person you miss them but always talking yourself out of it.
“This was the first song I wrote and recorded for this project and established what the rest of the music would sound like. We wanted to capture the nostalgic feeling by recording strings that felt cinematic as well as rotary phones, and heartbeats that became a part of the drumbeat. My hope is that if you’re missing someone and want to tell them, whether that’s a friend, partner, loved one, whoever, that this song helps you to do so.’
Formerly known as Frankie, Bird has toured the U.S. with acts like Troye Sivan, Dua Lipa, Charlie Puth and Daya, and even landed on Taylor Swift’s Songs That Will Make Your Life More Awesome playlist.
During the pandemic she reinvented herself by going back to her singer-songwriter roots following her time in the pop world. She wrote a concept album on her guitar in her living room, reflecting on the highs and lows of her 20s. She wanted all-new collaborators for this new project and met three incredibly talented musicians (Jake Jamieson, Austin Myles Grant, Thomas Lea) who helped bring her new cinematic sound and vision to life. This new chapter of music marked a fresh start and rebirth. After years of being known to family as “their songbird,” she decided to be called Frankie Bird.
Since June, she has released the singles and videos Twenty Nothing, When We Were Young, Float and If I’m Being Honest, which have garnered over 1,000,000 streams. Her debut album Twenty Something will be out this year.
