Mister Tracy Brings You Fiat Pax For The Holidays

The Montreal multi-talent captivates with his fourth collection of seasonal fare.

Mister Tracy gives the gift of peace with his gorgeous and soothing new Christmas release Fiat Pax — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

Following the success of A Christmas Song (2020), C’est Noël (2021) and Silent Night (2023), the Montreal multi-talent’s fourth Christmas outing spotlights his undeniable growth and maturity. “Fiat Pax means ‘let there by peace.’ Today more than ever we need to deliver a message of peace to humanity, and what better way to do it than through music,” says John Tracy.

This album is a meditative exploration of the religious themes surrounding the birth of Christ and the mystical stroke of midnight. The seven-track offering, entirely produced by Mister Tracy, is a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary sounds, delivering a captivating experience. “Until recently, I was not open to the idea of having my music reflect my religious beliefs,” he says. “But then again, why not? Our creations are limitless. We’re inspired by our thoughts and, funny enough, our beliefs.”

The carefully curated track list includes timeless classics such as Ave Maria (Gounod), Dominus Dixit Ad Me (Gregorian chant), Silent Night, Il Est Né Le Divin Enfant (French traditional) and the timeless classic Auld Lang Syne. The inclusion of songs in English, French and Latin, along with a beautifully hummed track, highlights Mister Tracy’s linguistic and vocal prowess. The track list combines everything from pop to classical, showcasing the fluidity of the artist’s voice.

Fiat Pax is a celebration of the diversity within me as an artist,” shares Mister Tracy. “This album represents not only a musical journey but also a personal and spiritual exploration… (It) completes me to a point that I would feel content if it were my last.”

Mister Tracy has already released videos for Ave Maria, Dominus Dixit Ad Me and Il Est Né Le Divin Enfant, and is currently in pre-production of the video for Auld Lang Syne, due for release before the New Year. Having a universe of its own, each track was carefully imagined reflecting the artist’s vision. “Each music video should have its own identity because I believe in timeless pieces that will go on to live forever,” Tracy says. “I like to play all those characters and make each frame of my videos look like a painting.”

John Sawaya Tracy is a Lebanese-Canadian tenor, pianist, composer, arranger and voice coach. Born in a family of musicians, composers and painters, he spent his childhood submerged in sound and colour. He started learning piano at age seven, and studied opera and jazz at the Conservatoire in France and McGill University. He performs opera roles and oratorios in France and Québec.

Since 2012, John has been arranging and songwriting music and instrumental pieces for events, venues and artists. His musical universe blends pop, jazz and classical in an unconventional manner. Influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Queen, Carole King, Alicia Keys and Chet Baker, he is meticulous about writing and obsessed with musical colours, voices and chord progressions. Mister Tracy believes in variety and a limitless possibility in what the human voice (and mind) can achieve.
