When you only release an album every 18 years or so, people tend to get a little excited about it. Especially if your band happens to include guys named Mick and Keith.
So it’s no surprise that the announcement of The Rolling Stones’ long-awaited new album Hackney Diamonds is the 500-pound gorilla of today’s releases. And whether or not you’ve already watched this morning’s live announcement hosted by Jimmy Fallon below, by now, you’ve probably heard everything there is to know about it at this point — that it’s their first album since A Bigger Bang, that Steve Jordan is playing drums (though Charlie Watts plays on two songs recorded back in 2019, one of which also features original bassist Bill Wyman), how it was recorded with producer Andrew Watt, how the title is slang for broken glass, how the first single Angry supposedly fits the theme of the album, and so on. In fact, by this point, you might be wondering, aren’t there any other new albums coming out this fall? Glad you asked: In fact, another slew of them were announced today. Check out the list below the video, or head over to the Upcoming Releases page for all the bazillion albums due this year (and next):
