Peter Foldy is head over heels in love new single and lyric video Jump Like This — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
Have you ever had a crush on someone you’ve admired from afar but thought would never give you the time of day — only to suddenly realize that this special someone actually might be interested? Wouldn’t that make you jump for joy? Canadian-Australian singer-songwriter Foldy’s upbeat reggae-pop single celebrates just such a connection.
Born in Hungary, Foldy grew up in Australia but moved to Toronto with his family at 17. While studying film at university, he also began writing and demoing original songs. In the early 1970s, a small indie label heard his tracks and signed him to a deal that saw his first single Bondi Junction climb the Canadian charts. That success led to a major-label deal and more top 10 hits.
After moving to L.A., his interest in cinema was suddenly reignited. He put music on the back burner and began writing and directing feature films, eventually working with stars such as Paul Rudd, Beverly D’Angelo, Eugene Levy and Louise Fletcher, among many others.
But old habits die hard. After the release of a retrospective CD, he was surprised to realize that he still had a fan base. That inspired him to revisit his music career. He began writing and recording again, and in recent years he has released the album Nine Lives as well as a string of singles including Toxic World, Friend-Zone and This Christmas. Written by Foldy, Jump Like This was recorded at Melrose Recorders in Los Angeles and produced by John Zych, David Williams and Foldy.
