THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Chiacago trio Ghost Forest — drummer James Kimball (The Laughing Hyenas, Mule), vocalist and guitarist Scott “Gub” Conway (Gauge, Even in Blackouts), and vocalist and bassist Brant McCrea (creator of the infamous cult film Chicago Rot) — have just released their self-titled debut album
The 12-song long-player was originally planned as a 2020 release, but the pandemic put a hold on production. With some help from Joe Shanahan (friend and founder of the venue The Metro), they were able to start recording and tracked drums, and later finished the rest at Rot Shop in Chicago. The album was produced and engineered by Justin Yates (Elway, Stay Alive) and mastered by Doug McBride of Gravity Studios (Veruca Salt, Smashing Pumpkins).
From start to finish, this album keeps moving. The intensity and spontaneity of their live sound are captured on each track. Thoughtful delivery and catchy hooks make this album one not to miss.”
