Vana Liya | Round n Round (ft. Pepper)
HOME BASE: United States.
GENRE: Reggae-Pop.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Nirvana Goberdhan (aka Vana Liya) grew up outside of New York City. Being of Caribbean descent, Vana was surrounded by soca, calypso, dancehall and reggae music. Vana’s mom gave her a ukulele for Christmas and a few years later she began covering songs by some of her favorite artists. The combination of the ukulele and her soft voice put a unique twist on some reggae-rock staples. Artists like 311, Rebelution, Stick Figure and SOJA shared Vana’s covers across social media. Since then, Liya has released a series of singles. Her latest track Round n Round was produced by Johnny Cosmic of Stick Figure. Vana’s raw, sweet, & ethereal vocals cascade over a meandering groove, paired with Pepper frontman Kaleo Wassman’s iconically bold lyrical delivery. Round n Round relates that mystifying mix of loneliness and wanderlust familiar to the wayfaring traveler & the roving artists who stray far from home to follow their muse across the globe. “I remember being at this house party somewhere in the Virgin Islands, people were all around me but I was still feeling so homesick that I suddenly walked outside and just started crying,” Liya explains. “But in that moment, I looked up at the sky and I saw the constellation Orion. Growing up, it was always my favorite because every time I would pull into my driveway in my house in New York I could see it. Gazing up through my tears to see Orion suddenly just made me feel like I was at home.”

Outlier | Back From The Brink
HOME BASE: Canada.
GENRE: Pop-Punk.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “In some ways, Newfoundland and Labrador’s Dan Glover has always felt like an outsider — a person who watches from the fringes and uses what he sees as inspiration. This is true in all facets of his life: Civil litigation lawyer, father, loving husband and musician. It’s why he decided to release his latest album Where Are We Now? under the moniker Outlier. The 10-track LP of jangle pop and contemporary rock reflects the joy and sorrow Dan has experienced in the past few years. And it radiates honesty. This is a guy who isn’t afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve and share a snapshot into his life with his listeners. “This is a very personal album,” Dan says. “Some of the things I’m saying I almost felt like I shouldn’t, but at the same time, the lyrics and the music came out and I feel like I just have to put it out there.”
