Late-Night TV Music (Better Late Than Never Edition) | April 28, 2021

Sorry if you already saw Dave Grohl & co. covering X, but it's too good to skip.

Things happen when they happen. Even in the usually predictable world of Late-Night TV Music. Case in point: Today’s clip of Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, Dave Lombardo and Grohl’s daughter Violet covering the X classic Nausea on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

I presume it aired on Wednesday night, but it didn’t show up on the show’s YouTube until I had already written yesterday’s post. Whatever. It’s just too good not to feature here. Sorry if it’s old news to you, but better late than never, right? Hopefully, some of today’s other offerings will be fresh — like the sharp-tongued Julia Michaels trying to erase All Your Exes from your mind on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Or country up-and-comer Gabby Barrett introducing her number The Good Ones on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Or even Canada’s own Moon Vs Sun (aka Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida) performing I’m Gonna Break Your Heart on Late Night With Seth Meyers, surrounded by an entire Pottery Barn warehouse of candles. Speaking of breaking hearts: Meyers has apparently bummed out the OLP fans by misidentifying Maida’s band as ‘Our Lady Of Peace’ during the intro. So I guess it’s safe to assume Meyers’ record collection does not include copies of Clumsy, Spiritual Machines or Healthy In Paranoid Times. Sorry, Raine.
