Thanks to the inexplicable popularity of my Submit Music page, I always have a digital backlog of albums, EPs, singles and videos awaiting my perusal. Here’s another recent must-hear from prolific Vancouver retro pop-rocker Pennan Brae, along with the Bandcamp link so you can buy the music straight from the source. Tell ’em I sent ya. And if you’ve got something I need to hear, send it my way. If I think you’re half as good as you think you are, I just might include you next time.

THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Pennan Brae is a Vancouver singer-songwriter whose music is influenced by music of the 1970s and ’80s. 2021 welcomes the release of Pennan’s eighth studio album Lit. It’s a 10-song rock ’n’ roll journey which kicks off with the lively Won’t You Come My Way, hits the anthemic Tearin’ My Heart In 2 midway and concludes with lead single Passing Fad. Recorded at Blue Light Studio in East Vancouver, the album follows Pennan’s 2 Below 0 single which received airplay on 125 stations. During Pennan’s The Astronot phase of four successive albums, he recorded with legendary drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty, Eric Clapton) and INXS bassist Garry Gary Beers. The recordings were then mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studio. A big fan of screenwriting, Pennan has written and co-produced two films: The Astronot, which streams on Amazon Prime, and 2 Below 0, which is currently touring on the film festival circuit. His YouTube channel is currently streaming over 50 videos.”
