Saint pulls you into his can’t-miss Pyramid Scheme with a dynamic new single and video — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.
Drawing lyrical inspiration from religious, philosophical, and sociopolitical perspective — and setting them against hard-hitting boom-bap drum beat production and ’80s synthesizer melodies — the eclectic and multifaceted creative born St. Clair Du-Berry Jr. proves he is a force to be reckoned with.
“We need to spend more time with each other… ” is a recurring theme throughout this melodic and lyrical expression. Saint explains: “Spending a lot of time with myself, my mother, and contemplating the life of my late father undoubtedly allowed me to pour out a part of myself on the mic that was raw, candid, and unfiltered.
“The name for the record suddenly popped into my head as I was lying in bed beginning to write the lyrics for my song. I have heard the phrase Pyramid Scheme on social media multiple times before, but never knew what it actually meant, so I did my own research on its meaning and implication, and I knew then, that this had to be the name for my new song.”
Whether he’s building sonic structures on his latest EP Futuristic Architecture, creating spiritual symbolism on his third studio album 7, or branding himself with his highly successful and critically acclaimed EP Black Sheep, Saint has a lengthy discography that will keep you up on your musical toes time and time again. This Atlanta-bred creative won the 2008 AMTC (Actors, Models & Talent for Christ) Award from founder Carey Lewis White. He has also performed twice at the House of Blues in Hollywood for the Hollywood Launch Semi-Annual Artist Showcase in December of 2015.
