Every now and then, you have to rock. Just ask Kim Gordon and Sturgill Simpson. The erstwhile Sonic Youth singer-bassist and the cosmic alt-country star both revealed that they’ll be turning up the volume on their respective new albums this fall. Gordon’s No Home Record — her first true post-SY solo outing after two experimental Body/Head albums with guitarist Bill Nace — is due Oct. 11, while Simpson’s aptly titled Sound & Fury arrives Sept. 27. Check out his video for Sing Along above, and her clip for Sketch Artist below to see what they’re talking about. As usual, there were plenty more releases unveiled yesterday, including a new Allison Moorer album and a Devonte Hynes classical release. Scope all today’s adds below, and then scoot over to the Upcoming Releases page for all the fall action. Meanwhile, let it rock.
