Like Will Ferrell, Natalie Merchant and Monsta X also made multiple appearances.

So, the mysterious Special Guest on all the Thursday-night talk shows turned out to be … Will Ferrell, recycling his Ron Burgundy character for the umpteenth time to hype his podcast. Yawn. Thankfully (and fittingly), some of the musical performers also pulled extra shifts. Natalie Merchant sang her 10,000 Maniacs classic These Are Days on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, then sat down for an acoustic version of Motherland for their online channel. Likewise, Korean boy band Monsta X (and guest French Montana) performed Who Do U Love on Jimmy Kimmel Live — then did another handful of numbers for the show’s YouTube page. And unlike Ferrell, neither of them had to cheat by recording their segments on different days. So much for staying classy. Next time, maybe he should just stay home.
