Late-Night TV Music (Supergroup Edition) | July 30, 2019

Highwomen & Hollywood Vampires go head-to-head in a battle of the supergroups.

You want a supergroup? You got it. Two of them, in fact. For some reason, those were your only musical options on Tuesday’s late-night TV landscape. Up first: Newly minted country queens The Highwomen — featuring Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires — unveiling songs from their upcoming debut album on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The single Redesigning Women is up above, while the online exclusive Crowded Table is below. On the flip side, both televisually and musically, Hollywood Vampires — co-starring Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry — turned in a spot-on reproduction of David Bowie’s Heroes on The Late Late Show With James Corden. What bizarre musical coincidence will the midweek bring? Come back tomorrow to find out.
