You know what they say about familiarity. But they won’t be saying about Tuesday’s late-night TV music options — most if not all were probably unfamiliar to the majority of North American viewers. Like ascendant British singer-songwriter Jade Bird, who debuted her raucous single I Get No Joy on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Or fellow countryman Blood Orange — the artist sometimes known as Devonté Hynes — delivering a medley of Something to Do and Dark & Handsome on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Or even Canada’s own Dan Mangan, treating Jimmy Kimmel Live’s studio audience to Troubled Mind and Just Fear from 2018’s More or Less. Not a household-name rocker, rapper or popstar in the bunch. You gotta love that.
