As Pete Townshend reminded us in the ’80s, just a little is enough. And it had better be, since a little is all the late-night talk shows had to offer in the way of music on Wednesday. For my money, teenage singer-songwriter Lindsey Jordan and Snail Mail delivered the performances of the night with her two-fer of Heat Wave and Speaking Terms on Last Call With Carson Daly. Those of a poppy persuasion might enjoy singer-songwriter Natalie Prass showing off her Short Court Style on The Late Late Show With James Corden — though the fact that the glitter ball got about as much applause as she did should tell you everything you need to know. Or at least enough.
