Something old, something new, a grand finale and Boy George too. That summed up Thursday’s musical lineup on the late-night talk shows. The biggest event of the evening was the final appearance by Conan O’Brien‘s long-serving Basic Cable Band, who are being axed as his show gets retooled. After O’Brien paid an emotional tribute to guitarist Jimmy Vivino and co., they blasted through the Howlin’ Wolf classic Killing Floor. Then O’Brien strapped on a Strat to join them for a romp through Ronnie Hawkins‘ 40 Days. Meanwhile, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon introduced rapper Quavo, who did a medley of Lamb Talk and Workin’ Me from his upcoming album. The Late Late Show With James Corden welcomed Culture Club, who enlisted a gospel choir to help out on their song Life. And Last Call With Carson Daly offered up a two-fer from the married folk-hop duo Flora Cash, who played The Bad Boys and 18 Dollars.
