Bobby Freemont tries to hang on in his new single Don’t Let Me Go — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
The singer-songwriter’s latest single is a deeply emotive track that seamlessly intertwines alternative folk and R&B. Infused with a nostalgic undercurrent, this raw and reflective piece is poised to become the perfect soundtrack for late-night drives or quiet moments of introspection — inviting listeners to confront life’s bittersweet ebb and flow.
“This song is about trying to hold on to one of life’s highs when you sense a low creeping around the corner,” Freemont says. “I’ve learned the hard way that trying to outrun the bad times only prolongs them. The only way out is through — and if you’re in that ‘through’ phase right now, I hope ‘don’t let me go’ makes you feel less alone.”
Channeling those very emotions into the studio, the recording process behind Don’t Let Me Go captured a moment of pure spontaneity. “Ninety percent of the song was recorded in one take, right after Steve played the guitar part,” Freemont recalls. “I jumped on the mic, and the words just came to me before I had a chance to write anything down. We decided to keep that take. It felt true to the moment.”

The result channels a more somber Jack Johnson vibe, blended with the ethereal texture of Bon Iver over raw, emotive acoustic guitar reminiscent of Foo Fighters, culminating in a sound that’s both hauntingly beautiful and powerfully intimate.
With Don’t Let Me Go, Freemont continues to stake his claim as a fearless storyteller, delving into the nuanced landscape of mental health and self-discovery. This release offers a glimpse into the themes set to unfold on his forthcoming debut album, The Death of Bobby Freemont — a project that promises to lay bare the highs and lows of the human experience.
Freemont is carving out a distinctive path in the indie music realm by embracing vulnerability, authenticity, and a hands-on approach to everything he creates. A firm believer in forging genuine connections, Freemont’s work captures honest stories and heartfelt perspectives, challenging listeners to look inward. By blending melodic sensitivity with thematic boldness, he carves out spaces for introspection, ensuring each new release is not just another song but an invitation into his evolving creative world.
