Classic Album Review: Chris Rock | Never Scared

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Why should movie stars be the only ones to cash in on the Oscars?

Just in time for his Academy Awards hosting gig, fearless standup Chris Rock drops his fourth disc Never Scared, with live bits from his last HBO special and a handful of so-so studio skits. As always, Rock’s iconoclastic, in-your-face rants — about race, drugs, relationships, Jacksons gone wild and keeping your daughter off the pole — are hilarious. But if you’ve already heard them, this set might be as exciting as watching a rerun of the Oscars.
