Olivia Cox whisks you away with her to Paris with her in her new single — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
After a standout year in 2024, which saw the release of singles 23, Around You, Miss Me, Upgrade and Stupid Love, rising independent singer-songwrier Cox kicks off 2025 with her new single. Known for her unique ability to blend alt-pop with mainstream sounds, the 24-year-old Canadian-born artist continues to push musical boundaries with this fresh and innovative track. Paris delivers an electrifying sound that promises to captivate listeners and further solidify her place as one of the most exciting new voices in pop.
“I fell in love with the beat as soon as my producer played it to me, and I knew I needed to do it justice,” Cox shares. “It is so cool and unique, unlike anything I’d ever written before. With Paris being such a new sound for me, I felt free to experiment and truly have fun while writing and recording it.”
Initially not intended for release, Paris was crafted with a sense of creative liberation. Cox credits her producers, Aaron Brennan and Danie Seacroft, for recognizing the track’s potential and encouraging her to share it with the world. “It wasn’t until the guys told me that it was too good not to release as a single that I even considered it. I’m so glad they did because it’s such a new sound from me, and I truly believe my fans will love it. It’s definitely my favourite song I’ve written so far.”
Inspired by Camila Cabello and Addison Rae, Olivia sought to create a track that immerses listeneres in a playful and cinematic experience. “I was loving the way they used ad libs and layers to add character to their songs. I wanted to capture that same magic — something fun and immersive that takes listeners into another world for two minutes, like reading a page straight from my diary.”
She describes the song as a “lover girl journey” filled with vivid imagery and storytelling. “There are so many little avenues and parts of the song that take you on this visual ride of a girl with a crush,” she says.
Building on the momentum of her standout releases in 2024, Cox continues to push creative boundaries with this latest offering. Paris not only highlights her evolution as a songwriter but also reinforces her ability to craft emotionally resonant yet radio-ready hits.
