Andy Frasco Laughs Through His Growing Pains

The upbeat singer-songwriter's wildest & most honest album yet arrives May 23.

Andy Frasco & The U.N. would like you to experience Growing Pains. But don’t worry; no suffering will be required on your part. In fact, Frasco and co. will be happy to deliver the goods straight to you — all pre-packaged, road-tested and guaranteed to please.

Growing Pains will be the band’s landmark 10th studio album, set for release on May 23. The LP, produced by Frasco himself for the first time, finds the ever-evolving artist reflecting on life, growth, and balance while maintaining his signature mix of irreverence, humour and raw honesty.

Coming off the release of the single Try Not to Die, Frasco sets the stage for a record that embraces life’s highs and lows with equal parts chaos and catharsis. Co-written with producer Chris Gelbuda, the groove-heavy, tongue-in-cheek anthem is a rallying cry for finding joy amid life’s insanity, pairing country twang with an easygoing island breeze in its uplifting message: “Enjoy what you got, forget what you’re not, remember that love comes first.”

Growing Pains expands on that message, with Frasco tackling themes of resilience, addiction, and change. The album features highlights like Life is Easy featuring bluegrass virtuoso Billy Strings and Swinging For The Fences with G. Love and Eric Krasno. Throughout the album, Frasco continues to push himself as a songwriter, capturing the highs and lows of the road, the weight of expectations, and the simple joys that make it all worthwhile.

“I wanted to show people how I’ve grown as a songwriter,” Frasco shares. “That I wasn’t just a crowd-surfing party guy in a bar band. This record is about finding balance in music and life — focusing on the simple pleasures and taking nothing for granted because there are no guarantees tomorrow.”

Much of the album was written in Nashville alongside longtime collaborator Shawn Eckels and songwriting partners Chris Gelbuda, Steve Poltz and Andrew Cooney, marking a period of artistic reinvention. For Frasco, Growing Pains is a testament to his journey — starting as a self-taught, bar-hopping blues pianist to becoming the ringleader of one of the most unpredictable live bands in the country.

Over the years, Frasco has built a reputation for his no-holds-barred live performances, blending rock, jam, blues, and hip-hop into an exhilarating spectacle. At the same time, his music continues to evolve, pairing rowdy anthems with introspective storytelling and hard-earned wisdom.

“We’ve dedicated our lives to this, and we want to give it 130% of our energy,” says Frasco. “This band has grown from playing dive bars to selling out theaters because we bring people together. You don’t have to be in the cool club to enjoy our music — we’re all in this together.”

Frasco and his band have wasted no time taking Growing Pains to the stage, kicking off the year with a run of Colorado dates. The tour continues with stops at iconic venues such as Irving Plaza in New York City and festival appearances at Sweetwater 420 in Atlanta and Rooster Walk in Virginia.

Known for their audacious live shows — seamlessly blending elements of rock, funk, jam, and blues — Frasco & The U.N. turn every performance into an unpredictable, high-energy spectacle. Whether stage-diving, swapping instruments mid-song, or leading euphoric singalongs, Frasco thrives on creating an atmosphere of community, chaos, and catharsis.

Beyond the music, Frasco is a force of nature both on and off the stage. Whether leading euphoric singalongs with thousands of fans, hosting raw and hilarious conversations on his World Saving Podcast (featuring guests like Tony Hawk and Margaret Cho), championing mental health awareness, or turning pandemic boredom into a wildly successful variety show, he brings an unmatched mix of humor, honesty, and humanity to everything he does. His ability to balance raucous fun with deep introspection has made him one of the most captivating performers in the live music world today.
