Classic Album Review: Limblifter | I/O

The underappreciated Ryan Dahle returns with a third LP of pitch-perfect power pop.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Over the past eight years, former Age of Electric mastermind Ryan Dahle has put out two magnificent discs of punchy, crunchy, pitch-perfect power-pop chock fulla ringing guitars, razor-sharp hooks and edgy, darkly humoured lyrics.

And so far, both of those discs and $1.50 will get him a large cup of coffee. Do yourself and Ryan a favour: Pick up I/O and make sure the third time’s a charm for this superior Can-rock craftsman. Then maybe we won’t have to wait four years for the next instalment.
