Classic Album Review: Alter Bridge | One Day Remains / Various Artists | The Passion of the Christ: Songs

Creed's breakup leaves us with even more sub-Nickelback alt-rock. Great.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

They say you should be careful what you wish for. Here’s why.

After years of praying that Creed would go away, they did — only to re-emerge, minus singer Scott Stapp, as Alter Bridge. Stapp, meanwhile, has embarked on a solo career with Relearn Love, his contribution to a compilation of contemporary cuts inspired by Mel Gibson’s The Passion Of The Christ. So now we have even more darkly brooding, annoyingly earnest, sub-Nickelback, pseudo-religious alt-rock to suffer through. Excellent. Boys, on behalf of music lovers everywhere, please bury the hatchet and reunited ASAP.
