Classic Album Review: Black Label Society | Hangover Music Vol. 6

The guitarist goes mild on this set of slow-burning, soul-searching power ballads.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Ozzy Osbourne’s Viking axeman Zakk Wylde shows his softer side — relatively speaking — on this set of 15 slow-burning power ballads laced with dark southern-rock grooves, acoustic guitars, melancholy pianos, soul-searching lyrics and Zakk’s weeping-mastodon howl. Just call him Zakk Mylde. And call me when he rocks out again.
