Classic Album Review: Division of Laura Lee | Das Not Compute

These Swedish rockers are the life of their own party — and a pretty good DJ to boot.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

If The Hives are the happy-go-lucky life of the party, Swedish counterparts Division of Laura Lee are like that weird loner who shows up uninvited, mooches your beer and argues with everything you and your friends say.

Luckily, he makes up for it by bringing his own records, commandeering your stereo and playing The Rolling Stones, Spiritualized, The Stooges, Wire, Joy Division, Girls Against Boys, The MC5, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Jesus and Mary Chain. Now who’s the life of the party, Pelle?
