THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “The ’70s rock stalwarts of Slander Tongue put the pedal to the metal, crank down the windows, crankup the tunes and high-tail it out of Berlin in search of the promised land with their no-holds-barred new album Monochrome.
Fuelled by aggro power-pop and old-school punk, these 10 tunes are delivered with a full-throttle, guitar-driven blast of ’70s-vintage ballroom blitz. Once it starts, there’s no escape — Slander Tongue smell a great rock ’n’ roll party like sharks sensing blood in the water.
The band is iconic Automatic Axel on lead vocals and guitar, Klaus on lead guitar, Chico M on bass and JohnBoyAdonis, the King Khan & Supersensitive Shrines stone-age pounding drummer. Backing vocals were supplied by Jeff Clark of Demon’s Claws, with assorted guest musicians bringin´piano and powder, many street girls offering handclaps, harmonies and lots of broken glass.
Recorded and mixed by Smail Shock in late 2022, mastered from the tapes by Nene Baratto and A-Hule-Hule, and cut to wax at Lathesville in Berlin, this fully analog slab needs to be played as loud as possible.”
