Anna Goldsmith tries to help fellow teenagers Shine with her new single and video — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
While many other 14 year olds can find themselves nervously transitioning from senior youths to junior adults, the pop singer and musical theatre artist is here to say she’s in their corner. Bursting with messages of hope, solidarity, support, and camaraderie, Shine spotlights the singer-songwriter’s vocals range and relatable style.
After penning the song at the age of 13, the Barrie artist worked with fellow songwriter Jennifer Simpson and Juno-winning producer, musician, and composer Chris Birkett (Sinead O’Connor, Sting, Buffy Sainte-Marie) to bring the song to life.
Goldsmith’s entry into pop follows her tenure in the theatre world — she has already appeared in 13 stage musicals, and will be in the forthcoming indie short Sara Snow and the Seven Dancers. The experiences led Goldsmith to write Shine and craft the concept for its accompanying video, which was shot in and around Stroud and Barrie and features four of her closest friends, along with Noah Hollinshead and award-winning writer and Sara Snow director Arianna Grace Goarley.
