Les Claypool and Primus are rushing forward. Finally.
After more than a year’s delay, the eccentric trio are finally hitting the road with their upcoming Rush-centric tour A Tribute To Kings, which supposedly will feature a performance of the Canadian icons’ 1977 album A Farewell To Kings in its entirety. To prep, bassist Les Claypool has allegedly been getting pointers from none other than Geddy Lee himself. If you’re a Rush fan — like Eric Alper and myself — this is a pretty big deal. And a pretty cool idea to boot. Join us on today’s episode of Sonic Reducers as we discuss the tour, ponder the likelihood of a guest appearance by Lee and Alex Lifeson somewhere down the line, and — most importantly — ask which artist you’d like to see stage a similar tribute show to their favourite act. Sonic Reducers. One topic. Two music nerds. Five minutes. Everything you need to know.
