Sonic Reducers | Boxing With The Beach Boys

Will Feel Flows – The Sunflower and Surf’s Up Sessions 1969-1971 sink or swim?

I like The Beach Boys as much as the next old fart. But I’m not so much a fan of their archival box sets, which are often too light on actual rarities — and too heavy on filler like isolated a cappella backing-vocal tracks — for my liking. The upcoming box Feel Flows – The Sunflower and Surf’s Up Sessions 1969-1971 looks like it could go either way, but I’ll wait until it comes out July 30 to render my final verdict. But you don’t have to wait to hear what publicist and commentator extraordinaire Eric Alper and I have to say in our latest Sonic Reducers segment. Join us as we talk The Beach Boys’ legacy, the one and only Brian Wilson and the inevitability of a Sha Na Na resurgence. Sonic Reducers. One topic. Two music nerds. Five minutes. Everything you need to know.
