Late-Night TV Music (Banding Together Edition) | Nov. 19, 2020

Foo Fighters and Royal Blood crank it up; Zac Brown and James Blake cool it down.

Where have all the rock bands gone, you ask? To Thursday’s Late-Night TV Music landscape, I respond. Case in point: Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters, sharing their slow-burning new single Shame Shame on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Or Royal Blood cranking out their latest stomper Trouble’s Coming on The Late Late Show With James Corden. For something a little mellower, there’s The Zac Brown Band, sitting around the campfire strumming The Man Who Loves You The Most on Jimmy Kimmel Live. And of course, there’s always one entry that didn’t get the memo — and today’s winner is James Blake, closing down the party with his wimpy take on The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Hey, three out of four ain’t bad.
