Late-Night TV Music (Almost Dude-Free Edition) | Nov. 11, 2020

Minogue & Smyth & Morris & Ashe take over the Wednesday airwaves.

It’s been a dude-based week on the Late-Night TV Music scene so far. But things took a turn for the better with Wednesday’s female-centric lineup. Kylie Minogue got the party started — and won the Costume Of The Night Award for her business-on-the-left, party-on-the-right outfit — with her performance of her latest dance-pop single Magic on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Patty Smyth brought out the rock with her rendition of Build a Fire on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Maren Morris stayed true to her country roots by singing To Hell and Back at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium for Jimmy Kimmel Live. And Ashe delivered the night’s closing pop ballad by serenading an empty Royal Albert Hall with the help of One Direction’s Niall Horan, the evening’s token male (at least technically). Hope the rest of your day is equally testosterone-free.
