Even Bob Dylan is paying attention to Ken Burns’ Country, it seems. Zimmy has just announced that the next chapter in his neverending Bootleg Series will be a three-disc set that “revisits Dylan’s pivotal musical journeys to Nashville, from 1967 to 1969, focusing on previously unavailable recordings made with Johnny Cash and unreleased tracks from the John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline, and Self Portrait sessions.” The set will include alternate versions of songs from all those albums, the previously unheard cut Western Road, recordings with Earl Scruggs for a PBS special and an onstage performance with Cash at the Ryman Auditorium for the Man in Black’s ABC show. The typically overtitled Bob Dylan (featuring Johnny Cash) – Travelin’ Thru, 1967 – 1969: The Bootleg Series Vol. 15 arrives Nov. 1.
