Here in the strange and magical land of Late-Night TV Music, there’s no shortage of contrasting acts and odd couplings to go around. But in all the time I’ve been doing this, I honestly can’t think of two acts that were more perfectly opposite in virtually every single way than the ones who graced the small screens on Thursday night. In this corner: Up-and-coming New York country-rocker Caroline Jones, energetically tearing through her ballsy, no-frills number Tough Guys (from her upcoming EP) for the studio audience of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In that corner: Iconic California rapper Snoop Dogg, casually leading a veritable circus of performers and guests (including Swizz Beatz) through his medley of Countdown and The Next Episode (from his just-released album) on the outdoor stage at Jimmy Kimmel Live. The only thing they have in common: Either performance is a fine way to wrap up another week in TV land. See you next time.
