There’s more than one way to get up-close and personal with your audience. Thursday’s late-night musical segments gave us two options: You can sit down and play in the round like Mumford & Sons did for their performance of the moody and stirring Beloved on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Or you can stand on big rolling boxes and be wheeled around a stage full of go go-dancing teens like the recently reunited Jonas Brothers did while singing their Portugal. The Man-ly comeback single Sucker on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Hey, don’t blame me. I didn’t say they were good options.
