This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
Sometimes Harry Connick Jr. is a pop crooner. Sometimes he’s a jazz pianist. If you prefer the latter, the low-key duet disc Occasion is right up your alley.
On this second volume in his Connick On Piano series, Harry and sax master Branford Marsalis team up on 13 slices of subtle interplay and relaxed improvisation. Rhythm section? They don’t need no stinkin’ rhythm section. Neither will you. Granted, Occasion makes a better soundtrack to a Sunday morning brunch than a Saturday night bash. Even so, a good time is definitely had by all concerned.
