Fred LeBlanc and Cowboy Mouth have got it covered. And by it, I mean: 10 classic tracks by everyone from The Who, Queen and Ian Hunter to Fats Domino, Rodney Crowell and even Cher. The New Orleans party rockers take a swing at all of them on their fittingly title new album Cover Yo’ Azz, arriving later this summer. They recently previewed the album by premiering their appropriately rambunctious version of The Repacements’ Can’t Hardly Wait right HERE. A few days earlier, I got on the Zoom box with fun-loving frontman and drummer LeBlanc to talk about singing drummers, going barefoot, growing up in the Big Easy, covering his own ass and much more.
