Damnage crush it on their destructive self-titled debut album — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
Forged in the flames of global stages and punk soul, the American power trio officially introduce themselves to the world with this 10-track blast of propulsive punk and rampaging rock ’n’ roll, flecked with dashes of everything from modern alt-rock to classic grunge. These volatile, unfiltered tracks — including the blistering opener Wasteland, the chaotic stomp of Time To Kill and the aching vulnerability of Never See It — will appeal to fans of Turnstile, IDLES and Amyl And The Sniffers. Each song captures the emotional mayhem of modern life through a lens of unrelenting energy, razor-sharp lyricism and blood-and-sweat musicianship.
“The album is a sonic punch to the gut and to the face,” the bandmembers say in a press release. “Giving you something to think about and to feel while you go for the wildest musical ride of your life. Hot and cold. Raw, feral and calculated. Our friendship among the three of us is unique and plays a role in the music we create together. We have known each other for over 10 years. We have played in multiple bands together. We toured the world together with different artists. Each of us carries the same passion and desire to be in a band together. So, we seized the moments to create music together, forming the trio that we feel we were meant to always be.”
Born on the road while touring with — believe it or not — Lady Gaga, Damnage are the brainchild of three heavy-hitting musicians who have backed up the biggest musical names in the world — and whose chemistry goes beyond the stage. Guitarist Tim Stewart is a Bay Area punk kid with a vocal range from a penetrating rasp to the cold throb of darkwave. Bassist Jonny Drummond is a former Georgia cop-turned-bass savant who hung up the badge to pursue music full-time in L.A. And drummer Tosh Peterson is a 24-year-old prodigy with family ties to The English Beat. Together and individually, they’ve performed on some of the world’s biggest stages — Super Bowl, Coachella, Grammys, Oscars — and now, they’re pouring that high-octane experience into music that’s as brutal as it is beautiful.
