Albums Of The Week: Skinny Lister | Songs From The Yonder

THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Folk-punk rabble/rousers Skinny Lister are back with their sixth album Songs From The Yonder — a glorious, riotous mix of chest-thumping anthems, shanty singalongs and classics that find the band leaning into their roots and echoing the vibe of their first few albums.

Written and recorded by the band, mixed by Patrick Phillips and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Frank Arkwright, Songs From The Yonder blends pogo-primed percussion, Pogues-style Celtic punk hooks, and choruses that demands to be roared-out loud and proud.

This rum-soaked sextet have run rampant across the U.K., and further afield, since 2009. They raise hell and erase purgatory, a whirling dervish of guitars, folk and dancing. Having played a frightening amount of festivals and building an army of devotees, they’ve joined labelmate Frank Turner on huge tours, as well as teaming with Beans On Toast and joining the notorious Salty Dog Cruise. Their musical carnival of excess-fuelled punk-folk shows that Skinny Lister continue to be an unstoppable, elated force that make being in their path an experience to repeat forever.”
