Classic Album Review: They Might Be Giants | A User’s Guide

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Back in 2002, quirky popsters They Might Be Giants released the splendid, career-spanning retrospective Dial-A-Song. If you bought that, don’t worry about this set rendering it obsolete.

The 29-cut User’s Guide is basically Dial-A-Song condensed to a single disc, with a couple of extra songs from the 2002 kids set No! As for songs from their last two discs, they’ve been on different labels, so don’t look for anything here.

YEARS: 1986 – 2002.

HIGHLIGHTS: Pretty witty ditties like Don’t Let’s Start, Particle Man, Istanbul (Not Constantinople) and — natch — the Malcolm In The Middle theme Boss Of Me.

EXTRAS! EXTRAS! Just a 12-page booklet crammed with TMBG trivia.
