Classic Album Review: Barry Manilow | The Essential Barry Manilow

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

To butcher a line from What About Bob?, there are two kinds of people in this world: Those who love Barry Manilow and those who don’t. The former will want this 34-track, two-disc anthology. The latter might want to avoid the former until this blows over.

YEARS: 1974 – 1987.

HIGHLIGHTS: Mandy, It’s A Miracle, I Write The Songs, Looks Like We Made It, Can’t Smile Without You, Copacabana and other songs to listen to in the elevator at the mall.

EXTRAS! EXTRAS! Nothing — I guess bonus tracks are considered inessential to Manilow fans.
