Nick Cain Is Pumping On The Heartbreaks

The rising country artist’s head & heart battle over love’s enticing grasp.

Nick Cain tries not to crash and burn in the fast lane of love in his new single Pumping On The Heartbreaks — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

The singer-songwriter’s latest single is a spirited, twangy track that explores the emotional push-and-pull of falling for someone who feels like everything you’ve ever wanted in a romantic partner. This song encapsulates Cain’s internal conflict about making a move or taking things slow, wanting to maintain respect for that individual.

Utilizing an up-tempo beat and heartfelt lyrics, Pumping On The Heartbreaks dives into the whirlwind of unexpected attraction and the blurred lines of spontaneous connection. Through vivid storytelling and lively instrumentation, Cain captures the emotional tug-of-war that comes when you meet someone who feels like everything you’ve been looking for.

Pumping On The Heartbreaks is about that wild moment when you lock eyes with someone, and the world just kinda disappears around you.” He adds, “I remember walking into a bar one night and seeing this woman who stopped me in my tracks… confidence, fire, the whole deal. That kind of energy hits you fast, and you know you’re in trouble in the best way possible.

“This song is me being honest about that push and pull — wanting to be respectful, not rush things, but also feeling that undeniable pull that’s hard to fight. It’s messy, it’s human, and it’s real. Sometimes the heart’s got a heavy foot on the gas, even when your head’s hitting the brakes. That’s what this one’s all about.”

Co-written with Drew Lawrence and produced by Brandon Bell, Pumping On The Heartbreaks highlights Cain’s craftsmanship and marks another strong step forward in his emergence as a standout voice in modern country music.

Cain’s unique start in the industry has led him to create a niche for himself, built upon his work as a blue-collar tradesman, his entrepreneurial drive, and his authenticity. Unlike most artists, Cain first discovered his passion for singing and performing after attending the Watershed Music Festival at The Gorge Amphitheater. Soon after, at 39 years of age, he made the life-changing decision to try his hand at playing guitar.

Thanks to the onset of the pandemic, Cain was granted a silver lining, when his day job as a real estate developer came to a halt and led him to give this career path a real shot. He quickly began collaborating with professionals such as vocal coach Roger Love (John Mayer, Gwen Stefani) and songwriter Drew Lawrence (Christina Perri, Backstreet Boys), eventually dropping the singles Out Of The Blue, That’s What The Whiskey’s For and Blue Collars, White Claws, and Red Cups. Cain has performed everywhere from festivals and fairs to private parties and corporate events.
